The three must-sees around Tunis in one day
Carthage, Sidi Bou Said and the Medina of Tunis are the most popular visits in Tunisia. With a private car you go from one to the next without waiting for a coach or following a group: your driver drops you at each site and waits for you.
All three stops are UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the archaeological site of Carthage, the Medina of Tunis and, since July 2026, the village of Sidi Bou Said.
Your day, step by step
- Carthage (UNESCO): Byrsa Hill with its view over the gulf, the Punic ports and the Antonine Baths, among the largest Roman baths in Africa. The sites are spread out, so the car saves you long walks in the sun.
- Sidi Bou Said (UNESCO): The famous blue-and-white village on the cliff, with flowery lanes, studded doors and the Café des Délices overlooking the bay. Perfect for lunch.
- Tunis Medina (UNESCO): The covered souks around the Zitouna Mosque: chechia hats, perfumes, jewellery, fabrics and ceramics. A good time for shopping before heading back.
Best order: Carthage in the morning when it is cooler, Sidi Bou Said for lunch, then the medina in the afternoon.
