Around Cap Bon in one day
The Cap Bon peninsula, just north of Hammamet, combines beaches, citrus orchards and ancient remains. It is the ideal trip for a day of culture by the sea.
The route goes round the peninsula along the coast: the potters of Nabeul, the fortress of Kelibia, the Punic city of Kerkouane and the cliffs of El Haouaria.
Your day, step by step
- Nabeul: The potters’ town, with ceramic workshops, orange-blossom distilleries and a big weekly market.
- Kelibia: The fishing port and the imposing fortress overlooking the sea, then a break on one of the finest beaches in the area.
- Kerkouane (UNESCO): The only Punic city left as it was since ancient times: houses, basins and streets of a town abandoned in the 3rd century BC, facing the sea.
- El Haouaria: The wild tip of Cap Bon and its caves, old Roman quarries, facing the Zembra islands and, on clear days, Sicily.
- Korbous (time permitting): On the way back along the west coast, the Ain El Atrous hot spring that flows straight into the sea.
Bring a swimsuit in summer: the route passes beautiful beaches and your driver can plan a swim stop.
